Show Notes Transcript

Hello and welcome to the celebration of our first anniversary in podcasting. This is Apostle Charles Wright with Apostle Stephanie. Today, we give thanks to God and to each of you who have supported us this past year. Charles George Missions (CGM) started podcasting last year on June 20, 2020.

The overriding, overarching, predominant theme throughout these podcasts is God’s love for us through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, and the empowerment by the Holy Spirit. Thus, the purpose of our weekly episodes has been to encourage, empower, exhort, edify, and most of all show God’s love to followers of and future followers of Jesus Christ. Toward that end, to date, CGM has been used by God to spread the gospel throughout the world to more than thirty-two countries and 438 cities. We have produced 72 episodes in seven series in the past twelve months.

Whether this is your first time listening or you are a longtime listener, we ask you to help us celebrate this anniversary week by listening to one or more of the past podcasts. They can be accessed by category or series on our website, cgmissions.com/podcast. We’ll share this link with you again at the end of this presentation.

So, we hope you are inspired to listen to some of the previous episodes. We thank you again for listening over this past year and thank you for helping us celebrate this first year anniversary of podcasting for CGM. Now, please pray for us that we go forward in the power, might, and direction of the Holy Spirit each week. And pray that we keep self out of these podcasts and always keep them about Jesus, the Cross, salvation, and His empowerment.

Redemption and love is our very first podcast as we traveled with Ruth and Naomi back to Israel where Ruth met Boaz. The podcast weaves a powerful love story about Ruth’s love for her mother‑in‑law Naomi that caused her to leave her home in Moab. Then as most women know, Ruth found her true love in a man named Boaz. These relationships compare to our relationship with Jesus, who first loved us and redeemed our souls so we could live an everlasting life in heaven.

In our second series, “Bad Girls Gone Good,” we destroy myths too long put forth about some women in the Old Testament and New Testament. We also emphasize how Jesus was the first women’s liberator as he delivers Mary Magdalene from demon possession to become Jesus’ greatest supporter. Jesus delivers the Woman at the Well from a life of insecurity when she drinks from the living water Jesus gave to her. We visit Rahab in this series, a woman who was a prostitute but nevertheless loved her family so much, she betrayed her country to help the spies from Israel bring down the walls of Jericho. Moreover, Rahab is converted and is revered in the New Testament as one of the ancestors of Jesus (Matthew 1:5).

Series Three podcast is about Queen Esther. It tells the story of the love that Queen Esther and her cousin Mordecai had for the Jews still living in Persia. Through corporate prayer and fasting they saved the lives of the Israelites living in the Persian Empire who were facing annihilation. This large empire included 127 provinces and spanned more than 2,700 miles. The Book of Esther reflects God’s providence and redemptive favor for a praying and fasting people. The podcast also encourages us to experience the love of Jesus Christ who died, unlike Esther, and sacrificed His life for us to receive God’s eternal life.

Series Four, “More Than Conquerors,” will help you overcome fear and rejection, defeat foes, and recover what has been taken from you. Again, Jesus shows he is a protector of women in the episode, “He Protected the Rejected,” when he saves the woman caught in adultery from being stoned to death when he turns the tables on her accusers. We also talk about two women, Deborah, a judge and warrior, and Jael, who helped defeat a mighty king in the episode, “Stuck in the Mud.” In the episode, “Wise Woman Conquers Warrior,” we learn about Abigail, who met danger head on and conquered the heart of David with her bravery and with food!  The phrase, “A way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,” takes on a unique perspective in this podcast. And finally, we honor our veterans in this series, “More Than Conquerors.” Apostle Charles is featured in the first episode, “Conquering Fear: Interview with a Warrior” and Episode 7, “Honoring Our Veterans.” He shares his true experiences of war on the battlefield.

Season Five, was our most ambitious. It was Christmas season, 2020, and we produced 25 podcasts from December 1st, through December 25th. Many of you participated in these daily podcasts by submitting your favorite Christmas memory which we used as a segway into the messages for each day. We could not have produced 25 podcasts in one month without your participation, so we thank you again. We will be replaying many of these podcasts again this year during the Christmas holiday. But, why wait until December to listen? Everyday is Christmas because of Christ.

Season Six started the New Year and the Lord said to call the year 2021, “The Year of Empowerment.” We started the series with 14 episodes focused on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was sent back into the earth once Jesus ascended into heaven after His resurrection from the dead. The Comforter was sent to empower us to continue the work Jesus started in the earth. Toward that end we centered our attention on talking about who the Holy Spirit is, how the Holy Spirit empowers us and the spiritual weapons he empowers us with. We concluded the series with an episode on each of the nine Fruit of the Spirit. If you need strength or new strength, you should listen to this series. You will be empowered!

The current 2021 Season Seven, is about your empowerment through fasting with prayer. These episodes teach us the importance of fasting with prayer, why we fast, how to fast, how to be encouraged and not discouraged through a fast. Our purpose is the same as Jesus, to destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8. The episodes have numerous true accounts of the positive results of fasting. These episodes emphasize what Jesus said in Luke 4:21‑29, that we fast and pray because we want healing for those who are broken in their spirit, to break chains off those bound by evil spirits, to open the natural and spiritual eyes of those blinded, to give comfort and a healing salve to those who have been bruised physically, mentally, or spiritually. This empowering series shows us that fasting will move you to a new level of faith. Therefore, fasting is a feast for your faith. It produces the same fruit Jesus produced through the power of the Holy Spirit. The same anointing will lead you to speak the gospel without fear, but with God’s favor.
